The addition of a performance up pipe is a favorite modification among die-hard Subaru tuners around the globe. Invidia’s Subaru WRX uppipe is a catless direct bolt on replacement for the factory up pipe in your 2002-07 WRX or STI. Removing your WRX’s restrictive factory uppipe increases exhaust flow to the turbocharger and in return improves turbo spool, throttle response and power output by approx 7-10 hp.
The early version (2002-2005 WRX) of this up pipe has a bung for your stock EGT sensor, but because the EGT sensor will tend to overheat without a cat in the system, we suggest using the later version of the up pipe and installing a 2.2K ohm resistor in place of the factory EGT sensor. We suggest using the later 2006+ version for ALL cars, including the 2002-2005. So why do we even list the 2002-2005 version of the pipe? Some of our customers insist that they want to install the stock EGT sensor. Also, at times Invidia stocks out of the later model, so the early version is better than nothing.
(Note that the version WITH the EGT bung comes with a corresponding plug, so you can use any version on any of the cars listed below.)
The Invidia up pipe even includes replacement studs for added installation convenience. 2002-2005 WRX models have a pre-turbo catalyst, making this uppipe a major performance improvement. Though the 2006-2007 WRX and 2004-2007 STI do not have a cat in the factory up pipe, Invidia claims this product will still improve throttle response and driveability.
The 2006-2014 version has no EGT bung. Otherwise the two versions are identical.
Fits all 2002-2014 Subaru WRX, and 2004+ STI, including 2015-2021.
