Subaru OEM TGV/TPS Sensor

This sensor detects the position of both the Tumble Generator Valve, and the Throttle Position Sensor on Subaru EJ20 cars. Two of these sensors are used to track the position of the TGVs, and on 2002-2005 WRX, one reports the throttle position. We often see the TGV sensor closest to the turbo damaged during turbo swaps; a sharp tap with a wrench is often enough to kill the sensor. A dead TGV sensor will result in a P1086 or P1088 “Check Engine” code.
